Alvaro Hylander's label deliver the goods once more

For anyone who's suffering from that well-known sense of ennui that comes from trawling the "deep house" charts on certain download sites and struggling to find any actual deep house, help is at hand in the form of this superb collection of PROPER deep grooves from Denmark's most reliable providers of the same, DeepWit Recordings.

This is, as more eagle-eyed readers will have already noticed, the seventh in DeepWit's Best Of… series, so most deep house lovers should have a pretty good idea what to expect right now. Suffice to say, Vol 7 delivers that deep goodness by the barrow-load, be it in the form of small-hours dancefloor groovers like Last Of Me's brooding, ominous 999 Megabytes, Future Kings Of House SA's velvet-y Confusion or SDJ's dubby Sharpshooter, or more sofa-friendly cuts like the Secret Dub Mix of Djedzz's Deep Tag or Distant Relatives JHB's contemplative Insignia.

Never too laidback for the dancefloor but never too full-on for home listening, this collection is a masterclass in how to do deep house properly. Go seek.
