Move The Record broadcasts live from vinyl stores around the world
With record shops worldwide suffering, like most other businesses, from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and national lockdowns, last year saw the launch of a streaming series called Move The Record that saw top-flight DJs broadcasting live and direct from some of the world's finest vinyl emporia, from London's Phonica and New York's Halycon to Hâus in Buenos Aires and [pictured] Antwerp's Sound Architecture.
The idea behind the series was to shine a light on some of these oft-neglected black vinyl havens, with a view to driving online sales and encouraging footfall in those shops that were actually able to open at the time. Anyone tuning into the livestreams also had the chance to buy merchandise, or simply make a donation, via an associated Crowdfunder campaign.
Well, so successful was the series that now, it's back! Move The Record Edition #2 kicks off this every evening, and will be broadcasting from 6pm-midnight (UK time) every Thursday for the next four weeks. Hurrah!
