Yousef, Agaric and the brilliantly named Helms & Commander Love take care of remix duties
After nearly a decade in the game, German producers Daniel Nitsch and Andreas Henneberg, AKA The Glitz, released their first album No Drama on their own Voltage Musique label last year. Now, they've decided to release it again but this time with each track remixed, and this sampler contains the first three of those remixes.
First up is the Yousef Circus Rework of Nice Guys, which is a funky techno workout built round a percussive loop with a frenetic feel with added male vocal samples and snare rolls that build the tension nicely. Next up is the Agaric Remix of Rescue, again a techno track with a synth stabs, sci-fi sounds and retro drums, while finally the Helms & Commander Love Remix of Burgerrights is more laidback, with ethnic drums, haunting vocals and finger clicks.
All three are well produced and represent the ethos of the label to a tee. The most accessible is Yousef’s, which is the kind of track that you just know will work a dancefloor perfectly; my personal favourite however is Burgerrights, which is quirky, downtempo and perfect for the mellower moments in your life!
