A series of Climate Live gigs will take place worldwide next year
Groove Armada, Ida Engberg, Rebuke, BLOND:ISH and Scuba are among some of the dance music artists who've signed up to take part in Climate Live, a series of awareness-raising live concerts that will take place worldwide in April and October next year.
Staged by youth climate campaign group Fridays For Future, Climate Live – which was the brainchild of 19-year-old Frances Fox from the UK, and has been given the thumbs-up by Greta Thunberg herself – seeks to “enlarge the global [environmental] movement by engaging a new audience through music”. The event also has the backing of numerous charities and campaign groups including Oxfam, Friends Of The Earth, Greenpeace, The Climate Coalition and Extinction Rebellion.
The multi-genre event will see the above stars and many others from across the musical spectrum playing in 40 cities worldwide on 24 April and 16 October, although exactly who is playing where and when has yet to be announced.
