Southend-on-Sea's house and techno mystery man Spatial Awareness serves up a fine three-tracker for Shane Watcha's Zombie Soundsystem label

A treat here for those with no fear of the dark side.

In its Original form, Silflay blends deep techno and slo-mo disco sounds to create a moody, broody instrumental with a distinct sci-fi feel. Ray Okpara's remix heads down a slightly darker road while chucking in nods to both vintage Chicago house (the drums) and rave (the synths) as well as snatches of distorted, spoken male vocal. And then finally the label boss brings us an ominous, echo-laden re-rub that brings the track's techno elements to the fore.

Spatial Awareness's profile is growing all the time - he recently featured on BBC 6Music - and releases of this calibre can only add fuel to the fire.
