De La Soul, Goldie and Mad Professor are among the artists already confirmed

Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January will see the first ever Paradise Island festival taking place at Big Buddha Beach on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand.

Paradise Island is a new venture from Soundcrash Productions - best known as the team behind Soundwave in Croatia - and artists already confirmed for the inaugural event include De La Soul, Goldie, Mad Professor, Maribou State and Anchorsong.

The organisers say that Paradise Island provides "an eco-conscious and environmentally friendly alternative to the Full Moon parties, with a completely different culture that focuses on arts, music and responsible tourism". As well as the music, they promise "Thai performance art, traditional art, yoga classes, Thai massage, Thai cooking, workshops and more."

Early bird tickets go on sale this Friday (12 August) at 11am.
