The German-based duo return with their second single
What we have here is only the second release from the very cosmopolitan duo of Soda Pimps. One of them's from Chile in South America, one of them's from Bhutan in central Asia, but these days they're based in Germany (in Europe) where they knock out a neat line nu-disco and Balearic grooves.
Two of 'em, in this case. On the A, Adopted As Holograph declares its dancefloor intentions early with a nice chunky b-line taking centre stage from the get-go. As the track progresses, gentle synth notes and the sound of waves breaking are added, then that's it till a Spanish guitar-flecked breakdown ushers in some more synths. It's a track that probably deserves to be heard at sun-up after a long night's dancing to be truly appreciated, but right now it's sounding pretty good even on a cold November's night in Weston-super-Mare! On the flip, The Secretary Is Stereo Typing is in a similar vein, only with less of the ambient sounds and more of Nang's trademark 80s synths.
The A's the pick for me but both are very playable.
