Album's release will coincide with a 15-date UK tour

Jalapeno Records' 'new old' funk and soul outfit Smoove & Turrell have announced details of their fourth album, and a UK tour to promote it.

Crown Posada, released on 14 October, is a 10-track affair, and we're told to expect Smoove & Turrell's usual blend of soul, funk, hiphop and disco flavours, with strong nods to the band's Newcastle roots - the track Fight On, for instance, is about a famous northeastern wrestling champion, while the album's title track takes its name from a well-known Geordie pub.

But like many of their contemporaries - Kraak & Smaak, The Dap Kings et al - Smoove & Turrell are a proposition that's probably best appreciated live... and to that end they're embarking on a tour of the UK to promote the album. Catch them at the following dates:

Wylam Brewery, Newcastle (7 October)
Brixton Jamm, London (13 October)
Hare & Hounds, Birmingham (4 November)
Kendal Brewery, Kendal (10 November)
The Adelphi, Hull (11 November)
Band On The Wall, Manchester (12 November)
Shiiine On Weekender, Minehead (13 November)
Mono, Glasgow (17 November)
Mad Hatters, Inverness (18 November)
Cafe Drummonds, Aberdeen (19 November)
The Foundry, Sheffield (25 November)
Montford Hall, Liverpool (26 November)
