Birmingham indie rockers get a dancefloor-friendly refix
Skream has remixed a track by fast-rising Birmingham indie outfit The Clause.
In its Original form, In My Element was an indie-rock tune that'd appeal most to fans of, say, Hard-Fi, Cabbages or Kasabian. The Skream Remix, on the other hand, transforms the track into a synth-y, bleepy slab of indie-dance with strong influences from punk-funk and Italo disco.
The Clause front man Pearce Macca said of the remix: “We always said In My Element is one of those tunes that’s appealing to anyone no matter what music they're into, so it’s class to hear someone else's take on it. Ollie smashed it. He got the feel of the tune straight away and put his spin on it.”
Skream himself said: “I put out a tweet to see if any bands wanted to collaborate and they got in touch. As soon as I heard the vocal I knew I needed to work on it. I think as a band they’re cool as fuck. And as for the song it’s all about one big party and if you know me you’ll understand why that appeals! I’m very happy with the results.”
