Vincent, owner of Sankeys, has announced a new Ibiza party called
Dance 88/89 that will see some of house and techno's original
superstar DJs taking centre stage. Before that, there will also be a
one-off UK bash at the end of March.
The
UK party takes place at a secret location near Manchester on Easter
Sunday 27 March, and features a line-up that will have ravers of a
certain age anxiously double-checking they haven't fall through a
hole in the space-time continuum... or perhaps fervently hoping they
have! Adamski, Colin Dale, 'Evil' Eddie Richards, Fabio &
Grooverider, Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Valentine, Graeme Park, MC
Kinky, Mr C, Nicky Holloway, Terry Farley, Trevor Fung and 808 State
are all set to appear, and there are more names still TBA.
Dance
88/89 really gets going, though, when it moves over to the White
Isle. Every Wednesday from 25 May to 28 September, Sankeys Ibiza will
play host to various combinations of the above names, plus Robert
Owens, Todd Terry, Judge Jules and Paul 'Trouble' Anderson... all of
whom will be joining residents Bushwacka! and the original Ibiza DJ
don himself, Alfredo.
Announcing
the new venture, David Vincent said: "Dance 88/89 is my own
personal artistic project which celebrates the original music culture
of classic underground acid house, in an authentic environment. It's
aim is to put the fun back into dance music. I want to thank the
Universe for allowing me to be able to tell the story of the
beginning of dance music in such a magical way. I also want to thank
these legendary DJs, who have put their trust in me to re-produce the
golden era of dance music to the world. These DJs are members of the
original Beatles of house music and my childhood heroes. This party
is a celebration of the return of the true legendary music and is
done with a lot of love from my part."
