Gerd Janson's label celebrate 1.5 decades with a little help from one of our scene's founding fathers
Gerd Janson's Running Back label is 15 years old this year, and they've just announced plans to celebrate that landmark in style... because the end of summer will see the release of a label 'best of' compilation called Running Back Mastermix that's been mixed by none other than the mighty Tony Humphries.
With releases under their belt from the likes of Theo Parrish, Radio Slave, Todd Terje, Move D, Redshape, Prosumer, Roman Flügel and many more, Running Back should need little introduction for house and techno lovers by now. And Humphries - whose DJ CV goes all the way back to the disco era and includes long stints with Kiss FM and Ministry Of Sound as well as his legendary residency at Club Zanzibar in Newark, New Jersey - should need even less!
So we won't bother explaining too much, and just tell you that the album will come either as a 16-track CD mixed by Humphries or as an eight-track vinyl doublepack, that featured artists include the aforementioned Terje and Redshape plus Leon Vynehall, Paul Woolford, Mr G, Tiger & Woods and more, and that it's out on Running Back (obviously!) on 15 September.
