2 Bit Thugs

The Leeds duo serve up two full-on dancefloor belters

With early support from Danny Howard and a whole other bunch of tastemakers, the talented Leeds-based duo lend their expertise to Subsoul Recordings and more than deliver the goods.

The System starts with a muted kick and and acidic blips, then builds into a full-on acid romp with a swung drum pattern, grunting 303s, vocal samples and a whole host of other sounds, all put together in a way that will fill the most jaded dancefloor. There's a breakbeat breakdown with a vocoder applied to the vocals, and I can see this one going off big time wherever it's played.

The second track, Evacuate, is even more bonkers than the first, with a percussive intro leading to a breakbeat section with mad vocal samples firing all over the place. It all eventually leads to a crazy breakdown and onwards, with a whole host of new crazy samples added that give it a truly individual feel and make it a real dancefloor groover. It's acid-electro-funk on steroids, and by the time the second breakdown hits, I can't imagine anyone on the floor not going mad to its crazy intoxicating rhythms.

Highly recommended!
