The track features on the 'Traffic EP', which is out on Friday

Our first great track premiere this week comes courtesy of German label Temple Traxx, as iDJ brings you the first chance (well, sort of…) to hear We're On Wheels by Bizz O.D. & Jimi Tenor. The track is taken from the Traffic EP, which is out this Friday (27 March).

We say "sort of" because this isn't actually your first chance to hear the track at all… the Traffic EP was first released all the way back in 1995. But then that'll be ancient history for some of you lot, so if you just imagine the screen going all wavy right about here…

The EP was recorded after the two Finnish veterans, who first met in a club in Helsinki in 1989, decided to move to New York and form a band called Public Extacy. That was in 1992. Unfortunately Public Extacy never really got off the ground, but the pair stayed in contact after Tenor left New York, and recorded the Traffic EP during one of his later return visits. The original 1995 release was on OZON Records, which was run by Biochip C & Jammin' Unit – the latter being the brother of Temple Traxx boss Khan Of Finland, which is where the screen goes all wavy again and we come back to the present day…

For this re-release a quarter-century on, Temple Traxx have unearthed another cut from the duo's archives… Girls is an experimental, bleepy cut sitting somewhere between acid, and IDM, while from the original EP you'll find jacking acid houser Left And Right and the stuttery techno of Stop And Goodbye.

But it was the hard-to-pigeonhole We're On Wheels that intrigued us the most: see what you think…
