'TouchToneOne' comes from 'Fever Switch' EP, which is out tomorrow

The first of TWO exclusive track premieres we've got for you today comes from deep into leftfield, experimental territory, as iDJ brings you a first chance to hear TouchToneOne by UK duo Room Of Wires. It's the closing track from their new EP Fever Switch, which is out tomorrow on London label Rednetic.

In this age of information, Room Of Wires aren't ones to over-share – we can't, for instance, tell you either of their names, because we don't know what they are. What we do know is that since forming in 2013 they've put out two albums and a number of EPs as well as having their work featured on several soundtracks – despite the pair of them never having actually met! Instead, we're told they prefer to “work in isolation, sharing ideas and sounds over the internet, one of them using hardware and a tangle of physical wires, the other lost in software and virtual cables".

Elsewhere on the Fever Switch EP you'll find fractured beats, dark industrial FX and twitchy, wonked-out ambience galore – it's fair to say if you're looking for pretty little ditties you're gonna be humming all day, this probably isn't the EP for you. But the track that caught our ears was TouchToneOne, which is a little less dystopian, doomy and dischordant, and instead sounds almost Orb-y in places.
