Track is taken from the 'Latin Sol EP', which is out on Wednesday

We've got another exclusive track premiere for you today, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear Sol Dia by Christopher Lawrenz. The track is taken from his forthcoming Latin Sol EP, which is out on Wednesday (6 June) on Ray Okpara's AMA Recordings.

Christopher Lawrenz grew up in the north of Germany. Trained on violin and piano from when he was very young, he started DJing in local bars and clubs from the tender age of 15, and it wasn't long before a residency at Hamburg nightclub Ego beckoned. Since 2011 he has been based in Berlin, where he's a regular on the decks at spots such as Watergate, Sisyphos, Arena Club and Wilde Renate.

The Latin Sol EP features four tracks in total. Latin Sol itself tops hard-slamming 4/4s with chanted Afro vox and dense layers of twitchy, glitchy minimal sounds. Luca Doobie supplies a somewhat slinkier, groovier remix of the title track, and Lagermisa rides Latin-tinged broken beats. But the track that caught our ears the most was Sol Dia, a more rolling cut that'd work in minimal and tech-house sets alike, and that's got a definite summery feel.
