The track comes from the 'Come Again' EP, which is out on Friday

The first of two great track premieres we've got lined up for you this week comes courtesy of Farris Wheel Recordings, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear Set Your Soul On Fire by Dutch producer Sirena. The track is taken from the Come Again EP, which is out on Friday (21 December).

Sirena (real name Renske van Kollenburg) began her career as a music journalist in the Netherlands, while also being resident DJ at Toffler in Rotterdam and hosting her own show on Ibiza Global Radio. She moved into production only a few short years ago, but her work has already found a home on such respected labels as Bonzai and Kevin Saunderson's KMS. And now she gets the thumbs-up from another scene legend, Gene Farris, as she comes to his Farris Wheel Recordings label, who recently celebrated 20 years in the game (you can read Gene's thoughts on that anniversary in our recent interview).

The title track of the Come Again EP is a tough, percussive, eyes-down tech-houser, and plenty playable for sure. But our ears were pricked up the most by B-side Set Your Soul On Fire, which ploughs a similar furrow musically but whose ragga chat and "dun-da-da-da" scatting lend it a distinct 'back to the 90s' kinda appeal.

See what you think…
