Track comes from the 'Lakemont' EP, out this Friday on Aloma Recordings

We've got another great track premiere for you today, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear Reflection by US producer Joe Livingston. The track comes from the Lakemont EP, which is out this Friday (19 October) on Livingston's own newly minted Aloma Recordings label.

Joe Livingston was born in Miami but did his musical growing up in nearby Orlando, where he cut his teeth as drummer for synthcore band Damage, who toured with the likes of Flaming Lips, Fugazi and the Dead Kennedys. An interest in industrial music then led him first to big beat and now to the melodic techno/progressive house he makes today. He is currently resident in Philadelphia, where as well as DJing and producing he also works as a live sound engineer.

Four tracks make up the Lakemont EP. Where Are You is a deep, proggy chugger in its Original form, while the Dance Not Dance Remix takes us into spikier electro/industrial/EBM territory. In a complete change of pace, Beware Of Spiders then flirts with surging trance before finally Reflection, our pick today, completes the EP, a dark, brooding and epic affair that could fit into prog and techno sets alike.

See what you think...
