The single-track release will be available in stores from Friday

Today's exclusive track premiere comes to you courtesy of NYC label Force Of Habit, as iDJ brings you a first chance to hear Open House by Lempo & Chuck Roberts, ahead of its release this Friday (21 August).

Based in Manchester, Lempo is a UK house producer whose real name is Mike McGuinnesss, and whose release CV stretches back a full 10 years now, taking in labels including Trax, Strictly Rhythm, InHouse and Applique Music. Chuck Roberts, meanwhile, i the possessor of a voice that'll be familiar to you even in the unlikely event that his name isn't – that was him proclaiming "In the beginning, there was jack" way back in 1987. After laying down that much-sampled vocal he disappeared from the house scene, working instead as an R&B producer, but since 2018 he's been back with us, voicing cuts from Yousef & Harry Romero, DJ Siege, Timmy Trumpet and more.

And now the transatlantic twosome come to Force Of Habit, a New York label who are best known for their tech-house output. As you'll hear below, though, Open House departs from that remit somewhat, being a brass- and organ-infused affair that'll appeal to lovers of classic Chi-town house and New Jersey garage alike.
