US prog stalwarts Pangea Recordings serve up some dark, techy minimalism from Argentina

This week's first exclusive track premiere comes once again courtesy of DJ Samer's Pangea Recordings, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear the Alejandro R Remix of John Joseph & Javier Benitez's No Die. It's taken from the No Die (The Remixes) EP, which is out next Monday (20 April).

John Joseph & Javier Benitez are two Argentinian producers who record and release boh separately and as a duo. Between them they've racked up releases on labels such as Stripped Digital, Modern Agenda, We Are Here Music, Pro B Tech and Mystic Carousel, while their productions have found favour with the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Nick Muir and Hernan Cattaneo. Here, they return to California's Pangea Recordings, stalwarts of the US progressive house scene who should no introduction to iDJ readers by now, given that we've premiered no fewer than seven of their previous releases as well as featuring them in our Label Of The Month slot last May.

The Original Mix of No Die sits at the darker, techier end of the progressive house spectrum, Michah's Third Die Remix is a touch housier, while Nomad In The Dark take us into more wonked-out, afterhours territory. But the mix that grabbed us the most comes from fellow Argentinian producer Alejandro R, who's delivered a stripped-back pass that turns the dark up to 11 and could very likely find favour with techno and minimal jocks as well as the usual prog suspects.
