Progressive house will never die - at least not if DJ Samer's got anything to do with it…

Today's exclusive track premiere comes once more courtesy of our friends at US progressive house label Pangea Recordings, as iDJ brings you the first chance to hear the Original Dub mix of Immortal Pt 1 by DJ Samer ft Dani Ivory. The single will be out on 12 August.

As we've run several Pangea premieres before, as well as featuring them in our Label Of The Month slot back in May, the label shouldn't need much introduction by now! But in case you've just joined us, DJ Samer has been running the label since 2004, on a one-man mission to fly the flag for classic progressive house sounds in the US. Immortal Pt 1 itself, meanwhile, finds Samer teaming up with vocalist Dani Ivory, who's worked as a backing singer for the likes of Beyonce and Cee Lo Green.

Remixes of the track come from veteran Swedish duo Inkfish, whose 20-year CV takes in releases on the likes of Bedrock, Azuli, Renaissance and Stereo Productions, and the Mono Electric Orchestra, which is the latest project from Barry Jamieson, co-producer of Sasha's Involver and Fundacion albums and formerly one-half of Deconstruction-signed duo Evolution back in the 90s. Inkfish's take is laidback and White Isle sunset-friendly, bringing Ivory's haunting vocal to the fore, while Jamieson takes a tuffer, more technoid path on his Mono Electric Orchestra Remix. But it was the classic surging, pulsing prog of the Original Dub Mix that caught our ears the most.

See what you think…
