The single-track release is out today on Traxsource, and everywhere else from 11 December
Today's exclusive track premiere comes to you courtesy of NYC house label dotdotdot Records, as iDJ brings you a first chance to hear Give Me That Beat! by Perry Engineering. It's out today as a single-tracker on Traxsource, with a full release to follow in three weeks' time.
Perry Engineering is a house, techno and minimal producer from Adelaide, Australia, who goes by Scott Perry in real life. dotdotdot Records, meanwhile, is of course the NYC house label set up in 2000 by former Eight Ball Records supremo Ramon Wells, and this is Perry's second outing on the label, following previous single In My House.
As for the track we're premiering today, Give Me That Beat! is a classy little house groover centred around some lush piano chords, shuffling drums and a male vocal snippet intoning the title, accompanied by some soulful female wails. It's quite a simple affair, perhaps, but sure to go down well wherever classic-style US house music is played.
