John Hawley takes care of remix duties on this jackin' house slab

New York native Pinto has released on the likes of Nervous Records, InHouse Records, Guesthouse Music and Simma Black. He was also named as one of the 'Jackin’ House Producers of 2016' by Traxsource. This EP features two original tracks plus a remix of the title cut by US mainstay Jonn Hawley, and all three are bumpin’ house nuggets.

The first track is the original version of House Around, which starts with skippy percussion that leads to a one-note string line and some jazzy chords. Then there's a drop with male and female vocal samples before the track moves onwards with the addition of a funky-ass bassline. There's another drop later on which works well, and the track is a proper party-starter. The Jonn Hawley Remix kicks off with the obligatory percussive intro before letting loose with some synth stabs, a funky bassline and a smattering vocal samples. As it builds it gets more intense and funky, until it hits a drop with moaned female vocals. Finally you have Can You Feel It, which has a nicely tuned kick then hits you with a synth lead line, moaned male vocal samples and eventually a female saying “Can you feel it coming?" plus a few other choice lines. Together it all makes for a fine, soulful, funky groove.

If you're a fan of the jackin’ house sound, this release is a fine example of the genre with three tasty cuts to choose from. I personally like the Jonn Hawley remix of the title track best, but will more than likely play all three.
