The old skool force is strong in this one!
Punks Music continue what's been a startling run of form lately with this two-track offering from mystery producer Outlord.
"Two classic 808 ragga re-rubs" is how the hype sheet describes this one, and that description certainly fits... but it only tells half the story. It doesn't tell you that Brain itself makes use of hefty chunks (vox, piano, breakbeats) of SL2's rave classic Way In My Brain but marries those chunks to fierce, pounding kicks that are almost trap/EDM-like in intensity. Nor does it tell you that Down The House performs a similar trick, but this time helping itself freely to chunks of Adonis' acid-era Rockin' Down The House, though to be fair you might have guessed that one from the title.
Two absolutely balls-out cuts that'll rock younger floors without a doubt but, as a bonus, will put a smile on the faces of any ageing cheesy quavers to boot!
