El Paso's Oktavio PD and Toronto's Remi Blaze join forces on a killer two-tracker
El Paso, Texas native Octavio Trujillo, AKA Oktavio PD, and Toronto's Remi Blaze team up here to bring us two slices of deep house straight out of the top drawer, brought to you courtesy of Russia's ever-dependable Incepto Deep.
Deep Pass is up first and can be filed under "deep house" or "deep garage" as you see fit, with wonky, warping organs and a cut-up diva vocal sample doing most of the heavy lifting – the latter sounding suspiciously like the classic "come with me, tonight's the night" vocal put through the FX mangle, though I don't think it actually is. The accompanying Wait Up, on the other hand, is more your straight-up dancefloor deep houser, with quite pacy 4/4s by today's standards, more garage-y organs and vocal snips and plenty of hefty bottom-end groove.
Neither track does anything particularly groundbreaking, it has to be said – but if you're looking for some trad-style deep house/garage goodness this week, this is a very solid bet indeed.
