He's undertaking the daredevil feat to raise money for the charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life
On 16-22 September, Warp veteran Nightmares On Wax - AKA George Evelyn or DJ E.A.S.E - will be one of 15 climbers attempting to reach the 5,895-metre summit Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania - and he'll be playing a DJ set when he gets there.
The expedition has been organised to raise money for the charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life - more specifically, the charity hopes to raise £50,000, which will be used to built a 20-bed home for up to 50 special needs children and their mothers at the Feathers Tale Village, also in Tanzania. Joining Evelyn on the climb will be Defected's live percussionist Shovell and Radio Beirut's Jihad Samhat.
Evelyn said: "I’m super looking forward to this challenge on many levels. The first is the need to get fit while creating as much awareness as possible to help these one-parent families. This will be a life-changing experience, that will help change lives for the better! Happy to help!”
