Both are available now, priced £215 and £245 respectively
Numark has added two new controllers to its line-up, the two-deck Mixtrack Pro FX and the four-deck Mixtrack Platinum FX.
Both controllers are built for use with Serato software – Serato DJ Lite is included in the package – and so give you the ability to mix tracks streamed from TIDAL or Soundcloud, with a three-month TIDAL subscription included in the deal (for new TIDAL customers only).
The only real difference between the two is that Mixtrack Pro FX is a simple two-deck affair, while a second layer on the Mixtrack Platinum FX gives you four decks to play with. Both feature six-inch jog wheels, but on the Platinum model these are enhanced with a central LCD colour display that's absent from the less expensive Pro version.
Beyond that, the two are identical. Each channel offers eight performance pads, three-band EQ and filter, pitch bend and Sync buttons, and a dedicated loop control with multiplier buttons, while the central mixer section offers six quick-launch FX with dual paddle triggers, plus Cue Gain and Cue Mix knobs to control what you're hearing in your headphones. The I/O count is fairly basic, but there are twin 3.5mm and 6.35mm headphone sockets plus a single RCA phono out, as well as a 3.5mm mono mic input.
Both units offer 44.1kHz/24-bit DSP. Both are USB bus-powered and require Windows 10 (64-bit only)/MacOS High Sierra 10.13 or above, and both measure 546x246x51mm and weigh 2.4kg.
