The label is brought to you by the team behind Swiss club and festival promoters Modernity Events
For a decade now, Switzerland's Modernity Events have been putting on parties and festivals high in the Alps - and now they're launching their own record label.
The aim of MDRNTY Records is, say founders Alejandro Mosso and Maxime Leonard, "to offer a music output platform for our most appreciated artists, who share a common view of what MDRNTY stands for, be it house, techno or anything in-between". And for the label's debut release, they've procured the services of none other than Visionquest boss Ryan Crosson.
Crosson's imaginatively titled MDRNTY001 EP consists of three tracks: the slow-building, Berlin-ish Aphelion, the twitchier, more minimal-leaning Appalachia and the freaky-bleepy leftfield house of Bambi Hands. You can hear some snippets below and if you like those, then the EP's out on vinyl and digitally on 16 April.
