The stands are ideal for mobile DJs but would also be suitable for home use
American manufacturer Gibraltar Hardware, which is part of DrumWorkshop Group and normally makes drum and cymbal stands, mounts and accessories, has launched three new equipment stands aimed at DJs.
The Radius stand (GRSDJ-1, pictured) is designed to hold two vinyl turntables, two CDJs or two laptops, plus a mixer. It stands 32 inches high and 30 inches across, with 30-inch feet to provide stability, and breaks down easily for transporting between gigs. For larger setups there's the Elevate DJ Workstation (GRSDJ-E), which is 68 inches wide and sits on 36-inch feet, and on which can be placed either a coffin case or an optional tabletop (sold separately).
Also new are matching speaker mounts (GRSDJ-ESM), which let you mount two speakers weighing up to 22.5kg onto the Elevate workstaton. Finally, the four-post GPRDJ-2 stands 34 inches high and measures 20 inches deep by 30 inches wide, and has been designed specifically to take equipment mounted in coffin cases.
There's no word yet as to pricing, but the stands should be available very soon. For more information, see Gibraltarhardware.com
