Milan's Mirko Di Florio serves up two original cuts, while label bosses Supernova take care of remix business
DJ/producer Mirko Di Florio started playing piano at the age of four. After making a name for himself as a DJ in his native Italy, he went on to release with Matt Tolfrey on Leftroom and now plays regularly all over the world. This release is a two-track affair, with the title track also remixed by label bosses Supernova.
First up is the Original of Got Your Love, which starts with a shuffling drum pattern to get toes tapping, then brings in the female vocal and the grooving bassline which, along with frenetic drum loops, make this into a real groover that's impossible to ignore, with risers and a tribal drum break helping to make it stand out. The second track is called Rubber, and has a thudding kick and drum fills which are added to with spoken vocals and another funk-tastic bassline that should move even the most jaded of clubbers! There's a vocal breakdown and then on it rolls, with the odd popping sound thrown in for good measure and another breakdown later on. Finally you get the Supernova remix of Got Your Love, which adds a tribal drum loop with an intense conga rhythm, and uses the vocal in cut n' paste fashion, which works really well and adds a different dimension to the tune.
This is a high-impact release that has been designed to fill dancefloors the world over. I'm sure it will have the desired effect, too, as all three tracks are packed with hooks and a heavy dose of techy funk.
