The results of the heavyweight team-up are every bit as good as you'd expect
Mihalis Safras returns to Kaluki alongside musical heavyweights Prok & Fitch to release a brace of club bangers that are aimed squarely at the dancefloor.
First up is For Your Body, a moody, brooding track which begins with bass tones, drums and vocal chops, added to with a long snare roll that increases in volume as it comes to a crescendo. The main body then kicks off in a deconstructed kinda way, with odd vocal samples, high- pitched whistles and much audio trickery that all add up to a very danceable track that sounds great loud. Next up is Koi Koi, another unconventional roller that starts with vocal samples and a rattly snare and hi-hat pattern which eventually give way to a rolling bassline, a keyboard riff of sorts and a fast, spoken and heavily effected vocal sample, all underpinned by a pumping backbeat that drives the track ever forward. There's also a different, female vocal sample during the two breakdowns, which adds to the aural insanity nicely.
Not picking a favourite here, because I know I’ll play the hell out of the pair of them - as will a whole ton of other DJs.
