Kristin & Amanda serve up a half-hour of chunky house grooves direct from Miami
Our Making Waves slot showcases DJ mixes by rising stars – and two stars who are rising fast right now are boiish, a self-styled "indie-dance and tech-house" duo from Miami, Florida, who made their debut with the single People Wanna back in May, and who bring us a very fine half-hour of chunky, funk-driven house music indeed…
AKA: Kristin & Amanda
Location: Miami, Florida
Describe the music you make in 20 words or less: Percussion-heavy and bouncy bass beats with tech, house and indie influences that make you want to groove.
Five key influences: Claude VonStroke, Odesza, Gorgon City, Camelphat, Diplo
What one artist/producer would you most like to work with, and why? It’s tough to pick one dream collaboration, but we would love to work with Jamie Jones. We love the energy we get from his DJ sets, and the percussion work in his music. It would be awesome to see how that would translate in a studio setting together.
If people check out just ONE of your tracks, what should it be? The VIP Edit of Do Too Much, our new single.
What else do iDJ readers need to know? Keep a look out for some new tracks coming out soon – we have some really fun collaborations on the way!
