This time around, they're doing the do for Mar-T's WOW! Recordings
As another year nears its end we see two of Germany’s finest artists, M.in and Gunman, joining forces once more to release a tech-house three-tracker on Mar-T’s acclaimed WOW! Recordings.
The first track, Hands Up, has no intro to speak of, instead starting at full tilt with a funky bassline, quirky percussion loops and mad vocal samples that have been AutoTuned and filtered to give them a messed-up feel. There's a breakdown of sorts roughly in the middle, with the synth going through a crazy filter sweep and stereo panning; then it's back into the frenetic madness before the track ends as abruptly as it starts.
The second track, Xone, has a percussive intro before the addition of the bassline and mad rhythmical sounds, which are soon joined by a male spoken vocal sample and some bleeps and clicks. There's also a female vocal sample that's used to good effect, and again the track is fast-paced and sonically intriguing. The third and final track, America, kicks off with a deep bass tone and a messed-up snare roll. These elements are joined by the kick drum and other percussion sounds to make a great backbeat, which is then topped by crazy male vocal samples and some bleeps.
Make no mistake, this release is designed for the dancefloor, where its looped-up madness will really shine, and when in the mix will make up three crowd-jumping weapons of dance destruction. It's very much aimed at the DJ and for that reason will no doubt win favour with many. I don't have a favourite and will gladly play all three.
