Whether you like your house techier or more funkified, you're in luck here
taly's Luca Donzelli teams up once more with Ibiza icon Mar-T to deliver brand new single Tarabaralla, which comes complete with a remix from UK DJ/producer Jansons.
The Original Mix of Tarabaralla is an uptempo tech-houser which kicks off with a funked-up percussive loop and bassline, then develops with some strange noises in the mix, as well as what sound like vocal snippets that have been put through a stack of FX to totally warp them. There are lots of other random sounds that have been slammed through many sound processors, and when heard loud it sounds sublime. There are clean vocal samples in play, too, but personally I prefer the messed-up ones as they give it a different sound and inject a bit of fun into the proceedings.
The remix is a different kettle of fish altogether, as Jansons takes a funky disco approach while leaving the crazy elements in situ, giving you the best of both worlds. There are string stabs, funky guitar licks, a subtle punchy bassline and one-note string lines, which keep the tension high and make this into one seriously groovy dancefloor devastator!
Tarabaralla is a quality tech-house tune but in my humble opinion it's surpassed by the remix, which takes it in a different direction that just happens to be how I like my grooves – fast and funky! Both are quality though and I can’t wait to drop the pair of them.
