The brotherly duo from Croatia come up with the deep goods once more
It's been a little while since anything from Croatian brothers Amor and Amir Jashari - better known as Kiano & Below Bangkok - came yours truly's way. On the evidence of this two-tracker for respected Spanish imprint Deep Clicks, though, it's fair to say they haven't lost their touch.
Jupiter itself is up first, a midtempo bordering on slo-mo affair with a suitably spaced-out feel: it's all simple, crisp rolling deep house beats and pads drawn out from here till Easter. Various fluttering synths waft in and out as the track progresses, but this is definitely one from the 'less is more' school of thought, and so is probably best suited to warm-up or post-club play. Flip it, and you'll find Discovery. Credited to Kiano & Below Bangkok ft Sequacious, Discovery is a tiny bit pacier than the A but ploughs a similarly contemplative furrow, with snatches of sampled, spoken vocal and wind-like FX.
Discovery is one of those tracks that'd work on deep, tech and prog floors alike, and as such is well worth checking. But as good as Discovery is, the stripped-back charms of Jupiter just nudge it for me.
