2 Bit Thugs

If you're a fan of classic vocal house stylings, then this latest from Kittball is a must

Here, Polish producer and Kittball boss Juliet Sikora teams up with King Brain and Magic Affair vocalist Anita Davies on a track celebrating the many incredible sets of tonsils that have helped make house music what it is today.

The idea's not new, admittedly – see also Daft Punk's Teachers or, more recently, Marc Cotterell's For Those We Love, though admittedly both of those records namechecked producers and DJs more than vocalists. But with Davis's own truly diva-tastic vocal giving shout-outs to Crystal, Jocelyn, Barbara, Ce Ce, Inaya, Ultra and Martha before declaring “there's only one religion here, and it's called house” while a phat n' funky bassline struts its stuff underneath, what's not to love? There's just the one mix, but it comes accompanied by two rubs (vocal and instrumental) of the equally fine I Got It, a deeper cut graced by some decidedly Jocelyn-esque wailing from Ms Davis.

If you're a fan of full-on vocal belters - "you know, the way we used to do it" - then this is pretty much essential.
