2 Bit Thugs

The new reworks come from Embody, Ramon Esteve and Heren himself

With over two million streams worldwide and counting, it would be fair to say Barcelonian producer Heren is doing something right with this tune, which originally came out in September 2016 and now gets the remix treatment with three new versions hitting download portals on 21 November.

The first remix comes from Embody, who gives it a 'future house' feel with congas, calypso drums and all things tropical now sitting alongside the full female vocal. Next up is a new version by Heren himself, which takes us straight into EDM territory with bubbling effects, stellar risers, snare rolls a-plenty and all the usual vocal manipulations. Finally, a version by Ramon Esteve beefs up the bassline, adds a swung drum pattern and ups the tempo a little.

This isn’t a tune that I personally would play out - it's a bit too commercial for me - but that doesn't mean that I can’t appreciate its popular appeal, just like the other two million people that have streamed the original. It takes all sorts of music to keep the world's music fans happy, and this is doing especially well in Europe and South America. With these new remixes, those streams are going to be flying even higher.
