Oliver Schories’ mix marks the end of Global Underground’s year-long TWENTY celebrations and the start of a nu chapter.
Rising Hamburg artist Oliver Schories is set to join an elite force of Global Underground-approved Nubreed selectors. Following the likes of Danny Howells, Lee Burridge, Steve Lawler and Satoshi Tomiee, he will take responsibility of the 10th mix in the 17-year-old series on October 27.
The mix series, famed for capturing the above-mentioned artists at exciting moments in their early trajectories, was relaunched last year by the UK club institution with UK’s Noir Music-affiliate Habischman. The first Nubreed album in over seven years, Habischman’s mix arrived in the build-up to the label’s year long double-decade anniversary TWENTY celebrations while Oliver’s mix will bring them to a close.
For Oliver, Nubreed #10 follows a summer of high profile shows from Beirut to Brisbane, releases on Noir, Parquet and remixes of Djuma Soundsystem and Just Her. The mix is set to include tracks from Atjazz, Darius Syrossian, Martin Landsky, Black Light Smoke, Jaime Trench, Gheist, Oliver Deutschmann and Anja Schneider and if it’s anything like this recent summer mix he’s uploaded, it’s should be quite the treat.
“It’s in essence three parts,” he explains. “Classics that almost nobody dares to play anymore, my favourite tracks at the moment and some of my secret weapons.”
