From Basement Jaxx to Nightmares On Wax, there's no shortage of big names lined up for Glitterbox's third season
Having made its debut in Ibiza just two years ago, Defected's house and disco night Glitterbox has fast established itself as one of the island's must-do parties. And now plans have been announced for a summer series of events beginning on 7 May at Ministry of Sound with Basement Jaxx, The Shapeshifters, Aeroplane, and John Morales. This party will launch the Glitterbox Ibiza 2016 album, curated and mixed by Defected boss and Glitterbox resident Simon Dunmore.
On 28 May, Glitterbox will present its own arena at We Are FSTVL, with Todd Terry, Joey Negro, Roger Sanchez, Norman Jay and Simon Dunmore, plus vocalist Barbara Tucker. And then at the start of June, Glitterbox begins its third year in Ibiza, hosting Friday nights at Space for 17 weeks featuring Basement Jaxx, Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, Roger Sanchez and Simon Dunmore. Glitterbox’s uninhibited dance crews will also be returning to the Terrace every Friday.
At the start of July, Glitterbox holds its second UK club date of the year, this time in Bristol (details TBA) And in August, Glitterbox will travel to Croatia for the first time, curating a night at the inaugural, five-day Defected Croatia festival in Tisno, Dalmatia. Glitterbox will then cap its biggest summer to date with the 2016 closing party at Space, Ibiza, featuring Todd Terry, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, and Purple Disco Machine.
