Phase 1 line-up includes Bonobo, Tale Of Us, John Digweed and more
This week saw much social media chatter, as fabric mysteriously deleted their accounts and boarded up the Farringdon club itself. Something was clearly afoot – and today, they've gone public with news of the club's 20th birthday plans. Or at least the first stages of them: the celebrations will last all year, but here's what we know so far...
As well as the usual weekly schedule, fabric will be throwing 20 special Fabric XX parties in 2019, the line-up for the first six of which can be seen below. Expect long sets (up to 10 hours!) from some of the most eclectic, discerning selectors around.
While Terry Francis and Craig Richards remain in situ, fabric will be introducing some new residents this year. The first two of these, Anna Wall and Bobby, make their debut in Room 3 tonight.
Here's some good news for anyone saddened by the long-running Fabric and FABRICLIVE monthly mix CD series coming to an end: fabric is launching a brand new quarterly series called fabric presents in their place, with Bonobo first in the hotseat.
fabric will be returning to OFF Week in Barcelona this year, as well as hosting stages/tents/arenas/whatever at two London festivals for the first time ever – details TBA.
To us, it seems like only a few years ago that fabric first opened its doors, and former iDJ staff writer Nick D went off to be the club's first-ever press officer. But no, it's somehow been two whole decades... so happy birthday from the sunny southwest, guys!
