The livestreamed event will raise money for Last Night A DJ Saved My Life's COVID-19 appeal
Some of the biggest brands in electronic music – including Mixcloud, Point Blank, Loopmasters, Loopcloud, DanceTV, Izotope, Brighton Music Conference and more – are joining forces next weekend for Set For Love, a 72-hour livestreamed DJ marathon in aid of dance music charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (LNADJ)'s COVID-19 emergency appeal
Established in 2010, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life – for those that don't know – is a UK-registered charity that raises for money for efforts to help disadvantaged children worldwide, primarily through organising events related to dance/electronic music. You can find out more about their activities at their own website.
Their latest venture, Set For Love, is being billed as "the world's biggest-ever DJ event" and will see thousands of DJs worldwide streaming live sets from midnight on Thursday 7 May to midnight on Sunday 10 May. It follows in the footsteps of an event of the same name staged by LNADJ last year, which featured 30 of Ibiza's leading DJs. But this time it's not just a string of big names that are doing it – anyone can get involved, including you!
LNADJ founder Jonny Lee said: "In this current moment, we were able to contemplate the most effective and simple way for LNADJ and the dance music community to come together and make an urgently needed difference in such a beautiful way. We’re calling on DJs of all levels, whether amateur or professional, to get involved. The same goes for promoters, record labels and all within the electronic music industry. Whether you’re streaming to thousands of fans or your friends and family, you really can make a difference. Just £20 can feed a family in Uganda for a month.”
Quite how the logistics of all this are going to work isn't entirely made clear, but if you sign up at www.setforlove.org, presumably all will be revealed…
