Not everyone understands house music, but Mr Amador most certainly does
A tasty six-mix release here, produced by US house legend Eddie Armador with words written and sung by Australia's Rebecca Burgin.
The Extended Vocal Club Mix starts with bongos, congas and tambourines, which are joined by the vocal, keyboards and bass riff. It's a bass-heavy affair, with panned vocals and a piano-led breakdown with a one-note string line, and as you'd expect from Eddie the production is spot on. Next comes the Lee 'The President' Hepworth Remix, which is punchy and uptempo with a great piano breakdown and build-up, and a very current-sounding backbeat featuring an arpeggiated riff and an electro bassline.
The Knoxtournal Remix follows in a disco cut-up style, with looped sections and much filtering and vocal chops, after which there's the Diston & New-Dave Mix,a piano house stormer with a building percussive intro, the vocal cut 'n' pasted throughout and plenty of risers to get the floor jumping. Then we have a great Live Percussion Edit, with live tribal percussion from John Spencer and minimal vocal cut-ups – a useful DJ tool. A self-explanatory Radio Edit completes the EP.
A well-rounded vocal house package that will be getting a damn good caning from yours truly.
