German producer Dompe serves up a belting two-tracker on his own label
A tasty two-track EP from Dompe that's brimming full of funky energy and aimed squarely at the dancefloor.
The first track’s title says it all, as it commands you to Keep Dancing. That's not a problem with a tune that starts with a kick, a wood block and and snare hits, which are accompanied by a simple funky bassline and backed by a single tone to add tension. There's a recognisable vocal sample as well which adds to the track's charm, and overall this one's a proper little groover with a simple but highly effective swung beat.
The second track is called Thunder and also starts with a with an infectious swung drum pattern, to which is added a funky bassline that's an instant call to the floor and should get your crowd moving nicely before the main hook is deployed, an old school rave sound that grows in intensity and is backed by a repeating bass note for the first half. Then the rest of the track kicks in behind it, and together it all sounds great.
This EP will make you want to dance for sure and both tracks have energy and verve. I don’t have a favourite and will no doubt be playing them both over the coming months.
