Swiss producer Caruso updates the Djuma Soundsystem fave for today's floors

This track's available as a free download – though how long that will be the case for remains to be seen, so you might want to grab it quick!

Caruso's new edit of Djuma Soundsystem's 2003 club classic kicks off with an intricate percussion loop made up of doubled kickdrums and bongos, which is soon joined by a killer funky bassline that's a call to the dancefloor if ever I heard one. Next there are some subtle vocals added, along with cinematic sounds and a funky guitar loop that helps jazz things up further. It's a very atmospheric affair, with warmth and a cathartic, funky vibe that really gets you moving right up to a breakdown – a brief respite from the track's mesmerising groove.

There's only the one mix, of course, but that's all you'll need. Over the Xmas/NYE period I got a chance to spin this on a number of occasions, and can happily vouch that, allthough it's just under eight minutes in length, it never drags and works a crowd to a tee.
