Edward Bate, something of a rising star in the house arena, comes up with the goods once again

Marc Cotterell's Plastik People Recordings, based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is one of the most reliable labels around right now for more traditional US house n' garage flavas (with respect also to the likes of Gents & Dandy's, My Love Is Underground, Savoir Faire Musique, Something Else and Danse Club Records). And this latest offering from DJ Shemp, AKA Dr Shemp AKA Edward Bate, certainly won't do anything to harm the label's ever-growing reputation.

There are three tracks to choose from. Get Loose itself is up first, a glorious concoction of nagging, parping organs, shufflin' garage-y beats and a raunch-tastic "you've got to get loose, move your feet" diva vocal. Crystal Flight, which follows, is a mellower jam that harks back to classic Chi-town deepness à la Messrs Heard, Damier and Trent, while completing the EP is Another Love, the paciest, most driving cut of the three with more of those gorgeous Jersey organs and sampled diva speech.

Lovers of trad-style US house should check for this one immediately... then again you can say that about most Plastik People releases!
