The venue and line-up are still under wraps for now
Defected Records are to host their first-ever standalone festival in the UK next year. The 10,000-capacity Defected London will take place at an as-yet-unanounced location in the capital on 14 September, with line-up details for the event's five stages apparently "coming soon".
It's a natural enough next step for the label: events have been an important part of the Defected brand for many years, and since 2016 they've been running the annual Defected Croatia festival. So it makes perfect sense that they'd want to bring that new-found festival know-how home to the UK, especially after recent parties at Ministry Of Sound, Studio 338 and Printworks sold out in a very short time. We'll bring you more details of the new festival as and when they're made public.
In other news from the Defected camp, it was recently announced that Glitterbox will return to Hï Ibiza for the 2019 season but move from Fridays to Sundays, while the weekly Defected party at Eden will move from Sundays to Fridays. And before any of that, of course, there's the dual NYE/NYD parties at Printworks, London and Victoria Warehouse, London, plus Glitterbox's first Printworks takeover on 23 February - see their events page for details of those three.
