This year, Tramlines Festival takes over the city of Sheffield on 21-23 July
Crazy P have been added to the official after-party line-up for this year's Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, which takes place on 21-23 July.
This year, Tramlines boasts five outdoor stages and five 'official' night-time venues, and the addition of Crazy P merely strengthens an official after-party line-up that already included Faithless, Gilles Peterson, Nightmares On Wax, Fuse ODG, Gerd Janson, DJ Marky, DJ Zinc, 2 Bad Mice, Cause & Affect, DJ Target, Artful Dodger, DJ Q, Camo & Krooked, Prince Fatty & Horseman and many more.
For anyone that doesn't already know, Tramlines is one of the UK's biggest urban festivals - last year's festival attracted over 100,000 visitors to the Steel City. Think an Edinburgh Festival but for music (rather than theatre and comedy) and you're somewhere in the ballpark: Tramlines really does take over the entire city, with the streets thronged and pretty much every pub, club and live venue putting on their own 'Tramlines Fringe' gigs and parties. By day rock, pop and hip-hop predominate - this year's headliners include Primal Scream, The Libertines, The Pharcyde, All Saints and The Coral. But soul, reggae, folk and jazz are well catered for, too - and then around 9pm or so, those repetitive electronic doof-doof beats take over till the sun comes up...
If you want to go, then a three-day Day pass costs just £45+BF, while wristbands for the Night events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are £14+BF, £14+BF and £5+BF respectively (which means you can see Crazy P, who are playing on the Sunday, for a fiver). There are also VIP upgrade options, and kids under 12 go free. For full ticketing details, see their website.
And if you do go, iDJ will be there as well so maybe we'll bump into some of you on a dancefloor somewhere!
