Single sees Cosmic Gate reuniting with Eric Lumiere, with whom they last worked on 2014's 'Falling Back'

This record was born from a moment of sheer happenstance. Cosmic Gate's Nic Chagall explains that a few months back, he, Cosmic Gate partner-in-crime Stefan 'Bossi' Bossems and Eric were discussing the tragic deaths of so many talented people this year who had done so much with their lives. A few weeks later, Eric contacted Nic and Bossi about a vocal demo that he had been kicking around, and with a bit of musical rejigging and the deft skills in the studio of the Cosmic Gate duo, the end result is this highly emotive and poignant ode to some of the greats that have passed over to the great beyond.

The track itself is a mid-paced progressive trancer which builds from a short percussive intro with a massive riser that elevates you to the full vocal tune with real instrumentation, massive synth lines, pianos, faultless production and the aforementioned poignant lyrics, which are sung excellently by Eric and which are for me the main hook of the track. It has already been premiered on Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT771 radio show, has garnered support from such luminaries as Ferry Corsten and the vocal performance has been declared in several places as Eric’s best to date.

It is released with an Extended Mix and a radio-friendly Edit, and I have to say that it is a fine piece of work which has the makings of a summer anthem that will get under the skin of many trance fans. My choice is the Extended Mix and I greatly look forward to seeing the crowd reaction over the coming months.
