The drum & bass duo will share top billing with Coldplay and Bring Me The Horizon
The
first names were announced today for this year's Radio 1 Big Weekend,
which is being held on 28-29 May at Powderham Castle in Exeter. Drum
& bass crossover superstars Chase & Status will headline the
festival, alongside dad rockers Coldplay and US rock band Bring Me
The Horizon.
Chase
& Status appeared on Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 breakfast show this
morning to announce the news. Craig David and Ellie Goulding will
also be appearing at the Big Weekend, with the full line-up details
expected to be announced soon.
The
Big Weekend, which is held in a different location each year, is Europe's
largest free ticketed festival. Chase & Status have appeared
there several times before, headlining the In New Music We Trust
stage in 2012, and playing on the main stage in 2011 and 2013.
Details
of how to apply for tickets will be announced on 21 March.
