The label will launch almost exactly six years on from Artbat's debut single 'Mandrake'
Melodic techno stars Artbat have announced that they're launching their own record label.
The label is called UPPERGROUND, and its first release will be the single Flame, coming courtesy of Artur and Batish (real names Artur Kryvenko and Vitalii Limarenko) themselves on 27 August. UPPERGROUND won't just be a vehicle for Artbat's own music, though: we're assured the boys from Kiev also intend to “carefully A&R talented new artists and give them a platform to shine”.
Announcing the project, Artbat said: “During the pandemic, we had enough time to work on new music and had our heads deep in the studio working on new ideas. Now we feel like we have the right tracks to be presented on our own label. Especially after a worldwide lockdown, we wanted to kick off with something fresh and new, filled with life, colour, spiritual uplift and emotion. Now feels like the exact right time to do so.”
