The Dubai duo serve up a two-tracker on Aney F's Slovenian label
A treat for the headnodders here, as Dubai's Am.rit & Yas serve up a fine two-track deep house/deep tech EP on Slovenia's Innocent Music Deep (AKA simply Innocent Deep).
Listen itself is up first, and it's definitely a case of "less is more" with this one! Essentially the track consists of quite understated, lolloping percussion, a hefty bass groove, a pad, and some whispered female vocal fragments. It's fair to say the track doesn't "do" a lot, but what it does it does with aplomb, and it'd work well in the warm-up or very late on. The accompanying Turn B operates in very similar territory, but the spoken female vocal here is used more extensively and brought forward in the mix, while the complex bassline, which has something of an air of tension/suspense about it, adds a more melodic/musical component to make the track a little more than just A.N.Other deep tech chugger.
Always tricky to review records like this, simply because there's not a lot going on… but if that's how you like it then this is an excellent example of the style, and one to check for sure.
